Data Deletion Policy

1. Data We Store About You

The following categories of data are stored in association with your account:

• Profile Information — your name, email address, display name, profile picture URL, and account creation date, collected from your sign-in provider.
• Authentication Sessions — OAuth session tokens from your sign-in provider (Google, GitHub, or Replit), used to keep you logged in.
• Deals You Posted — deals submitted through your account. On deletion, your name is removed (anonymized) and the deal remains visible to preserve community content.
• Comments — comments you posted on deals. On deletion, your name is replaced with "Deleted User" and the comment text is preserved to maintain thread context.
• Votes — upvotes and downvotes you placed on deals and comments.
• Saved Deals — deals you bookmarked or saved for later.
• Price Alerts — custom alert rules you created and the notification history generated by those alerts.
• Credits & Rewards — your credit balance, full transaction history, and any payout records.
• Activity Log — deal clicks and platform interactions linked to your account.
• Page Views — page visit records associated with your account session.
• AI Chat Queries — queries you submitted through the Ask AI deal-finder widget.
• Email Subscriptions — deal alert email subscriptions linked to your email address.
• Payment Information — Stripe Connect account ID and status, stored only if you set up cash-out for credits. We do not store full card or bank account numbers.

2. How to Delete Your Account (Self-Serve)

You can permanently delete your account and all personal data listed above directly from the site — no email required:

1. Sign in to your account at bestdealsrewards.com
2. Click your name or avatar in the top navigation bar
3. Select My Profile
4. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section
5. Click Delete My Account
6. Review the confirmation and click Yes, Delete My Account

Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your profile, votes, saved deals, alerts, credits, activity history, and email subscription are deleted instantly. Deals and comments are anonymized. This cannot be undone.

3. Manual Deletion Request

If you cannot access your account or prefer to request deletion by email, contact us at:

support@bestdealsrewards.com

Please use the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.

4. What Is Not Deleted

To preserve the integrity of community content and required financial records:

• Deals and comments you posted remain on the site but are anonymized — your name and account link are removed.
• Payout records may be retained as required by law for tax and financial compliance, even after account deletion.
